Our Staff
Vasco's staff is headed by: Elizabeth Scotto, whose
fashion sense for the latest trends in jewels is unsurpassed, yet inspired
in traditional masterpieces of Peruvian ancient cultures. She designs
all the ornamental Pre-Columbian pieces (new models and replicas), which
are unique and sophisticated yet tastefully adapted for everyday wear. Giampiero
Scotto, the manager, has one primary goal in mind: to maintain the tradition
of success. To this you add 18 highly qualified artists and the result is
VASCO Jewelry, one of the most exclusive and prestigious jewelry specialists
in Peru.
All of Vasco's jewelery artists have years of experience in
the art of jewelry making. They are continuously updating their skills by
learning new techniques, allowing them to remain in compliance with more
demanding international quality standards, while never abandoning their traditional
trademark of ancient Peruvian craftsmanship. Vasco artisans work with gold,
silver and other precious gems using all the knowledge of their ancestors,
hand crafting and molding every piece, as their
ancestors have done for over a millenium.
Experts certify that the changes and modifications presented in these reproductions
are precise and successful because the artists that make them have been able
to capture the concepts that their ancestors, the original creators, wanted
to pass on.
The jewels shown on this web site are all finely crafted hand made replicas that
require a long production process, carried out by experienced jewelers. Every
piece demands its own special care and technique to shape it, which can take
weeks or even months. This laborious process makes each creation flawless and
unique, captivating in each jewel a little piece of history. The buyer of one
of these priceless jewels will obtain a part of a millenium-long legacy that,
until today, belonged only to the ancient Peruvians.
Our Artists
As any piece of art, the jewel is stamped into shape by means of men’s inventiveness and skill. Only a man’s hand is capable of giving expressive force to the material, communicating movement to its different parts, and impressing texture to its planes. Shaping a jewel is like sculpturing in miniature. The machinery, no matter how improved it may be, cannot imprint life to a piece. Our skillful instrument is, therefore, only the artists’ hand. Here is a list of our artists:
